Eye See Eye Learn (ESEL) Program

Stouffville Family Eye Care is proud to be part of the Eye See Eye Learn(ESEL) Program. Our optometrists are trained in pediatrics and start seeing children as young as 6 months of age. The ESEL program provides comprehensive eye exams to children and their eye exams are covered under OHIP. If the child is in Junior Kindergarten (born in 2009) and requires a pair of glasses, they will receive a FREE pair at our office.

Each year thousands of children start school without ever having an eye exam. The ESEL program was created to address the alarming fact that 75% of
children between the ages of five and nine have not had their eyes examined by a Doctor of Optometry and 93% of all children under the age of five have never been tested; despite the fact that annual eye exams are covered by OHIP for children 19 years of age and under.
