Myopia Control

The progression of nearsightedness (myopia) in children is due to a combination of genetics and environment. With children spending more time indoors and doing increasingly more near work, there has been a dramatic increase in the amount of myopia and the rate of its progression in children. Higher levels of myopia can be associated with an increased risk of eye disease in adulthood. There are certain interventions that can be done to help slow the progression of myopia in children. Whether it be with specialty contact lenses, drops or spectacle therapy our optometrists are well trained on myopia control techniques and management. Please book an appointment with one of our optometrists to get more information on myopia control.
