Comprehensive Eye Examinations

The optometrists at Stouffville Family Eye Care pride themselves on conducting thorough and informative eye examinations. In addition to determining your optimal glasses prescription, our optometrists check your eye health and test for eye diseases such as: glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and changes in the retina that may be caused by diabetes, high blood pressure and other health conditions. We carry all the latest equipment to ensure the examination is accurate and efficient and limits the need to travel to other clinics for further testing. Our equipment includes: retinal and anterior segment photography, optical coherence tomography and automated visual field testing.

Emergency Eye Examinations

Many eye conditions require immediate attention. Our Stouffville optometrists always try to accommodate patients who require emergency appointments. Please call our office if you experience signs or symptoms such as: flashing lights or floating spots, redness, pain, sudden extreme light sensitivity, sudden loss of vision, trauma to the eye, contact lens related complications or any other sudden changes in your vision or eye health.

Laser Vision Correction Consultations

Considering Refractive Eye Surgery? Our optometrists are trained to conduct pre and post operative Lasik assessments. We have the tools and knowledge to help determine if you are a good candidate for Laser Refractive Surgery.

Myopia Control

Myopia (nearsightedness) in children is increasing at an alarming rate. Due to the changes in our environment and lifestyle, it is estimated that 50% of the population will be myopic by 2050. With increased myopia, there is increased risk of eye diseases such as: glaucoma, macular degeneration and retinal detachments. At Stouffville Family Eye Care we have the training and tools to provide effective Myopia Control Therapy to your growing child. Whether it be with contact lenses, atropine or specialty spectacle lenses; our optometrists cantailor a program that suits your child's age, comfort and rate of myopia progression. In order to track the success of your child’s Myopia Control Therapy we have the ability to measure axial length (length of the eyeball) in office. Dry Eye Therapy

Dry eyes can be very uncomfortable and can affect one's quality of life. Our optometrists are trained on effective dry eye therapies and treatments. This begins with diagnosing the type of dry eye disease you have and tailoring a customized treatment strategy. We are a large selection of artificial tears, eyelid hygiene wipes and foams, eye masks etc. We also offer the Zocular Eyelid System Treatment (ZEST). Good eyelid hygiene is very can significantly help with dry eye symptoms. ZEST is a deep and gentle eyelid cleaning and exfoliating treatment. The okra based solution is used to gently clean the eyelids and softly exfoliate the eyelids of any dead cells, bacteria, debris and biofilms that often accumulate on the eyelids and cause inflammation, redness and dry eye symptoms.
